I have a good friend who seems to perpetually be on a diet. Every time I talk to her she tells me about the newest diet she is trying. She has attempted to loose weight by doing everything from taking myonox to the cabbage soup diet. When I talk to her about diet and nutrition it always seems to fall on deaf ears. She is convinced that there must be some tricks to loosing weight aside from simply eating well and moving often. I have been in her shoes and finally accepted that the only way to get healthy was to follow conventional wisdom. It isn't easy nor quick but it works it you give yourself over to it. I now realize that I didn't gain weight overnight and I won't loose it that way either and keep it off.
