K4

Next month we will be meeting with a cyber school that offers a K4 program. This is essentially kindergarten for four year olds. We debated about enrolling our son in this program but he really seems to want to have school work of his own to do along side his older brother. I am a big fan of keeping children engaged in learning and fueling the fire of learning. Ultimately it became clear that he is ready for more than a day of playing and videos. It is going to be fun to see him embark on his own school adventure. I have to admit that I feel just a little weird about not having a big "first day of school" like my older son did when he went to public school for the first time. I am going to have to rethink the first day of school and make it an event of its own.
