Used Vehicles...
We bought a used truck last week. This truck was originally well beyond our price range but we manage to get it for a great price. The truck had papers inside it from the original owner detailing all the repairs that had been done to it. It also had notes from the shop indicating what repairs needed to be done to it. We had in our hands every record related to the truck since 2004 when the owner purchased running boards for it. It even listed where he found tires for sale at a discount. By negotiating a fair amount for our trade in we brought the price down. We then went on to discuss the repairs that we listed as needing to be done and the amount it would cost to have them done at a shop. My husband took it one step further and offered to buy the truck "as is" rather than with a small warranty. We figured if we got the price down far enough that he could do the repairs himself at a fraction of the price a mechanic would charge. In the end the price of the truck was nearly $5000.00 less than the asking price. We drove away with a truck that we really wanted that was once out of our budget.
