Green beans...

Well, my garden has started producing and it looks like this is going to be a good harvest year. So far I have been picking cucumbers, carrots, collards, and peas. In addition to those things my green beans have been coming in like crazy. So far this week I have canned 14 quarts from just one raised bed. I have 2 more raised beds with beans that should be ready to pick by next week. I am also growing yard long beans that I hope to freeze for stir frying this winter. Despite the drought we have managed to keep everything watered. I would love to be using rain water but my barrels are dry. By planting densely I have been able to keep the plants a bit moister than usual which has helped. Hopefully we get some rain this weekend!
