First harvest...

The first harvests of the season are always exciting. Thus far this year I have been able to pick 3 quarts of beautiful strawberries right out of my own backyard. In addition to the strawberries I have been lucky enough to pick a couple of quarts of really tasty sugar snap peas. The children find it especially exciting to see what is ready to bring in the house and love to help me in the garden. It takes a bit of planning to get things going at the right time in the garden and keep the plants healthy but it is so worth it.
