Life on an city smallholding wherein we grow kids, critters, and an ever increasing DIY repertoire.

Cold and wet.
Yesterday my husband and son returned from what was one of the worst camping trips they have ever been on. My son's scout troop held a camp out in the rain at a local playground. The tent that they used was not adequate for the weather conditions and they came home with everything absolutely soaked. Our tent is nothing special and not at all like any of the Sierra Designs Tents you might find online. We should have known better than to trust a cheap tent in bad weather but you live and learn. I don't think either one of them will be heading out to camp in a tent in the rain until we upgrade our tent a wee bit. Sleeping in a downpour is impossible and getting everything dried out after being drenched is no fun at all.
