Too many turkeys.

Last year I went a little bit crazy buying frozen turkeys. There were so many sales on them I couldn't help myself. Most of the turkeys I bought were around $5.00 each. Considering that they were 15-18 pound turkeys it seemed like an economical way to stock up on meat for my family. Now I am finding myself needing to cook up these turkeys quickly because I didn't use them quite like I had planned. We have a half a side of beef coming in the next two weeks and I really need the freezer space. I am considering cooking the turkeys and then canning the meat to help preserve it longer. I have learned not to buy so many turkeys because I neglected to consider the time involved in thawing, cooking, and preserving them.
