Happy to be done.

The weather has turned abruptly cold here and the leaves are starting to change colors. My gardening season is coming to a close. I still have a couple of things left to harvest such as potatoes and a few carrots. I consider this year of gardening to be a complete success. We managed to grow quite a bit of food. This was my first year of canning and I filled my last jar this week. In total I filled 527 jars with locally grown food. My family will eat this over the coming months along with the locally grown grass fed beef, chicken, and pork we have bought. It will be interesting to see how long everything ends up lasting us. I have high hope that our food bill will be dramatically decreased and our reliance on big food almost eliminated.
