I have returned a few shirts from my mom because they were the wrong size or completely not my style. I'm usually honest with my mom because she would be the same way with me.
I also returned a necklace from DH. I absolutely HATE heart stuff and it was a heart necklace with a rose in the middle. It was pretty but I would never wear it so I exchanged it for a pair of gold earrings that I wore all the time. DH knew that it was a risky gift to get. It just seemed like a lot of money to spend on something I wouldn't wear.
