What ever you want...

Our son asked us last night what we want him to be when he grows up. He absolutely could not believe when we said all we want is for him to be happy, healthy, and an honorable man. He kept probing for a more definitive answer but we refused to give another. I don't care if my children decide to go to truck driving school or medical school as long as they are happy. I think it is incredibly bad when parents try to create a future life for their children based on what they wish for them to "be". I know people who grew up knowing they would be a lawyer or a doctor because their parents told them that is what they would be. These are the most miserable people I know.
