Life on an city smallholding wherein we grow kids, critters, and an ever increasing DIY repertoire.
I heard an amazing statistic this morning on the radio. The host was stating that reading is declining in the United States and fewer people are picking up books than ever before. Amazing the average adult reads less than 4 books per year! This astounded me because I sometime read 4 or more per week. My oldest son read 8 books in the last week and half alone. Considering he is just 7 and reads at a high school level it is very hard to accept that adults only read 4 or few books a year. When we talk about the dumbing down of America maybe we should look in the mirror?
