Thankful For Heat

We have been having some incredibly cold days this week. It has been nearly impossible to keep the house warm despite our many weather proofing techniques. Last night on a 0 degree day our electric went out which meant so did our heat. You really never can fully appreciate how fortunate you are to have a warm home until you face the cold of -28 below wind chill. My oldest son thought it was fantastic to bundle up and all climb into bed together and read by flashlight. Thankfully the outage only lasted a few hours and was just enough to plant some very thankful thoughts in my heart.
