Whirlwind of Writing

There is a whirlwind of writing going on here at the "Toil" home. The entire family has been turned on to the idea of blogging. Last night I helped my 7 year old start a blog and he is just as proud as can be. He typed out an article entirely on his own about his Sea Monkeys. While some would debate letting kids spend much time on a computer I have always been a proponent as long my husband or myself supervises the activity. It was great to see him getting out a dictionary to look up how to spell words all on his own and see his creative wheel churning. As a parent I was amazed how much my 1st grader already understood about grammar and punctuation. It was 4 sentences of pure genius in my book.
