Specific gifts...

I may have mentioned in a previous post that I have a family member who is a musician. She has very high expectations of the people in her life when it comes to giving her gifts. She thinks nothing of asking for a new violin case or other music related gift around the holidays. Her requests are so specific that it takes the fun out of shopping for her. This year my family elected not to exchange gifts in order to simplify things. We are, for the most part, simple people and don't really need much. It was nice to not have to worry this year about buying gifts and to simply enjoy a meal together.
