Stocking up...

The impending rise in gasoline prices has me intent on planning for the future. I suppose this might fall under the category of prepping. I am intent on  stocking my pantry with food as cheaply as I can. Last week I bought 20 very large peppers for next to nothing. I made stuffed peppers and froze them. I also bought 8 pounds of mushrooms and dehydrated them along with several pounds of carrots. All of my celery is being dehydrated and the bottom half of the bunch is being re-grown! You can regrow the bottom of celery and green onions. I dehydrated a couple of bunches of green onions and them potted up the rooted bits. They are already growing and it has only been a week. My next project is to get a bunch of meat canned.
