Pitfalls of growing up

My son has pimples. Eight years old and he has already started getting pimples. Do I try regular acne treatments with him or do I try just soap and water to clean things up. He wants to know what to do about them I try to keep him from picking them but thats easier said then done. I think what bothers him even more is that I told him that this is something that her will have to deal with for the rest of his life. Personally I think you should only deal with them till your eighteen and then there should be some sort of natural law banning them from that point on.
