Is Direct Sales For You?

Aside from the sales I conducted as part of my professional career in health care I have never considered it as a work at home job. Quite simply I do not have it in me to try this. There are a great many women I know who do earn extra cash doing direct sales. I believe there is a specific personality type best suited for this type of work. Some of the qualities of successful sales people are:

Believe in your product
Believe in yourself
See a lot of people
Pay attention to timing
Listen to the customer – but realize that what the customer wants is not necessarily what he or she is telling you
Develop a sense of humor
Knock on old doors
Ask everyone to buy
Follow up after the sale with the same aggressiveness you demonstrated before the sale.
