For the last two months I have diligently applied for an endless number of work at home (WAHM) opportunities. My goal was to apply minimally to 2 work at home jobs (WAHM) per day at least 4 days per week. I recognize that doesn't seem like a tremendous task as opposed to what is involved in obtaining a position in a brick and motor business.
Making the assumption that finding a work at home job (WAHM) is easy is very inaccurate. Traditional employers are known entities that you can physically visit if you so desire. When you apply for a web base business or to a work at home (WAHM) opportunity there are limitless unknowns. The wise (WAHM) job seeker will conduct a great deal of research before sending personal information into cyber space. A general rule of thumb to keep in mind is that if the WAHM job seems to good to be true it probably is. Furthermore if the prospective employer wants you to pay any money for them to provide you with information or job leads then most likely you should run the other direction.
It is also advisable to reconsider your career objectives and personal goals. Prioritize what is most important in finding a work at home job and then move forward from there. In my case my main goal is to work from home and be able to meaningfully contribute financially to our family. All other considerations are secondary for now. I am willing to try any number of work at home jobs until the perfect or near perfect fit is found. Some jobs may simply rewarding financially while others meet your needs on a personal basis.
My current WAHM career titles include freelance writer, blogger, internet researcher, forum writer, and work at home agent for national business. On the back burner or coming down the line are jobs as an online personal shopper, tutor and virtual teacher. All of these jobs are seemingly vastly different from my formal career but I find I am using my skill base in a different way for each and making money while I find my path in this new WAHM career.
