By nature I am not a social being. I can turn it on with the best of them for work related functions and things along that line. Essentially I am a self-sufficient person who truly does not need people around me to feel connected. However, my close girlfriend has coerced me into joining a book club.
The group is essentially composed of SAHM's and conversations inevitably drift to finances. As a listener I am amazed at the how overwhelmed so many of these women are with the idea of entering the work world in any capacity yet they want a bigger house, a better car, or more things. I don't believe it is my husband's responsibility to make my every dream come true and I take pride in earning my own money no matter how little. To suggest finding ways to make money from home outside of babysitting to this group was as controversial as the time I confided my true political affiliation.
